I'm had a little play around with warmer colours today. And what's warmer than Red and Gold? Inspired by this lovely painting from Herbert James Draper:

Colours!
I'm enjoying this too much!! I was playing around with ideas last night:
Boy: "Lani, it's almost 2 am"
Me: "Just one more!"
Boy: *drags me away from computer*
I love all art by Alphonse Mucha! And the Art Nouveau idea from a wedding theme. Here's a little something put together with light pink, light blue and bronze as a basic idea:

Colours!
I have a new hobby! On the exceptional Style Me Pretty wedding blog I can create my own inspiration boards (yes I know I can technically do them on Photoshop too but that crashes the computers...)
Boy and I have a basic idea of what colours we both like so right now everything is just mix and matching. But yes, this particular colour scheme was already discussed a while back. We both like purple and blue :)

Fun Monday
What would I do without Mum? She's always sending new and interesting wedding links. Sometimes they are just hilarious! We had to share the following wedding dress possibilities brought to you by Bridalwave:
First of all, please meet YSL's Babushka Doll dress:
The wedding dress-cake:
A wedding dress fit for Hamsters:
Belle of the Ball...
Something for a Little Mermaid theme:
Poor unfortunate soul...

Almost half way there!
Hehe. It's been months since my last post (once again). Sorry to leave everyone hanging!
So, after all these months I still do not have a definitive idea of what I want!
First of all, I thought there were only 3 wedding dress styles one should go for... and boy was I wrong! My first thought was princess dress. I still love them, don't get me wrong, but I found so many other types of dresses that look just as beautiful! Here's a couple that have recently caught my eye...
Unique and Creative dresses by Suzanne Ermann:
Clean cut Lyn Ashworth dresses:
Stylish and Romantic dresses from Ian Stuart
There are too many more to share! Will add some in due to time :)
Secondly, colours and wedding theme... heh, I really can't choose! Do I want the dark, dramatic feeling? Glitzy and glamorous? Vintage? Classic? Rustic? Chic? I love them all!!!
When we get to South Africa this July, we're going to (hopefully) be able to decide on a venue. Based on that, we'll be able to start making decisions!!!

Winter wedding possibilities
I know it's been ages! Sorry everyone!
So, back to business! As everyone knows, our wedding will fall within the South African winter (European summer holidays). We've been looking a little deeper at possibilities to reflect the season in a very festive way. We came up with a current favourite for my dear bridesmaids... Cloaks!

Of course this is still a working progress but I found some lovely ideas on sites like Isabella's Realm. Take away the flowers and perhaps use another colour and this could be perfect! I'm still open for ideas but this is one that's gotten me rather excited with the idea of a winter wedding. We'll see where it will lead!
